Get to Know Us
This organization is in honor of Kevin Moran Smith Jr. our brother, son, uncle, friend, boyfriend, cousin and so much more. Kevin lost his fight with Bronchiectasis on November 3rd, 2022. We aim to help disabled people better their quality of life by helping them with tasks we may see as minimal. Grocery shopping for them, buying supplies, hanging out with them, financial support, gathering resources, and whatever else we can do. Kevin was a light, even though he was diagnosed at 18 he was always the life of the party and brought a smile to everyone's face. Our mission is to do what he did, create joy, be kind and help the often forgotten about in the process. Fly Kevin Fly will give disabled people whether they are born that way or it happens later in life, the ability to be seen and heard. Often society throws people away if they are not seen as "normal" and this can lead to depression. Kevin dealt with this, and he is not the only one. At Fly Kevin Fly disabled people matter and they deserve the same treatment as any other person. Our family watched Kevin deal with feelings of isolation, depression, uncaring doctors, and unanswered questions. These feelings aren’t just special to him, I’m sure there are many disabled people who feel or have felt the same way. The mission is simple, to provide a safe, fun, and helpful environment for people who have been given a special set of circumstances. We all deserve community and to be treated like we matter, you matter. Kevin mattered.
Welcome to Fly Kevin Fly!
